Defiance - PvP Sword Fighting - Chop Chop

Using a Castithan Blade for PvP in Defiance is pretty darned entertaining, check out why.

Using a charge blade to slay other players is darned entertaining. Take a look at a video of some of my gameplay doing exactly that. A couple of quick tips though. Make yourself hard to hit. Zig and zag as well as dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge. Use speed, surprise, and huge damage to your advantage. Be tactical in your approach and don't just run right at your opponent. If you do this, I'm sure you'll enjoy chopping those trees down.

Defiance - How To Get Super Weapons

I ran into a vendor with some amazing weapons and couldn't figure out how to get them. I searched a little and found out, here's how.

When looking at the weapon vendor at Iron Demon Ranch you see these amazing weapons with tons of damage. They look pretty cheap too; scrip cost and rep points are low but what is the other currency? Apparently they are called cores.

Everyone has the scrip to get the weapons. What you may not have is the rep and the cores. To get the rep you can do the conflict missions found on the map in the smaller blue circles. You can also do co-op missions, found by hitting esc and going to the matchmaking tab and selecting co-op. What is hard to find out is where to get the blue cores? These are also from co-ops. There are two types: Standard and Expert. Standard is based on a 1000 ego rating and expert is based on a 5000 rating. Complete the expert co-ops and earn the cores then buy the weapons.

Not an easy answer with 5000 ego rating being a long ways off but at least you know how now.

Defiance - How To Get A Sword

How to get a bright, shiny, and owny sword in Defiance.

This video is a quick guide about how to get a sword in Defiance. It took me a bit more time to figure out than I would have liked so I thought I would make a video and spare you all. In short you begin the quest chain to unlock the sword by finding a data recorder. This starts a quest chain that marks the location of two more data records you need to find, totaling three recorders. After you find the recorders you then have to complete some arenas. There are a total of 5 arenas. Each give you scrip, experience, and reputation points you can spend. You will have about 500 rep point when you finish with the arenas.

I would recommend bringing two different weapon types to the arenas. Something that clears tiny trash mobs easily like a grenade launcher and an assault weapon of some kind. I do not recommend shotguns as there are too many enemies to blitz into the thick of it. Grenade launcher and assault rifle is what I took.

Hope this helped you figure out how to get that sword and start choppin!

Smite - My First Look at Janus - Arena Gameplay

My first look at the champion Janus in the Smite Arena.

This is a quick look at the champion Janus in the MOBA game Smite. I review his abilities, my experience with the champion, and how I think he will best be used and what I would change in my use of him.

I started playing Smite when it first game out and wasn't the more polished MOBA game it is today. I had a great deal of fun with it and purchased a founders pack which gives me access to all the heroes, even new ones. I am putting together little snippets like this in hopes that you will save yourself the pain of unlocking heroes you hate.

Orion Dino Horde - Gameplay - Is It Worth Playing?

Is Orion Dino Horde worth playing? Take a look at my first hour or so in the game and decide for yourself.

Dino Horde is a free to play game that I got through steam. It's interesting because the rating on steam is terrible but the reviews are great. The normal price of the game is a bit much for what you are getting but it constantly goes on sale. I got my copy for $.99

Overall the game is fun. It's not great. It's not terrible. If I were playing solo I would certainly rate it as boring but playing with friends it was a good bit of fun. The graphics are so so. The mechanics are the same. In all it's an ok game. I imagine it will provide at least 5 hours of fun and if you bought it for $.99 then that's a decent deal. That's like a sip of beer at a bar!

My first look at the champion Ah Muzen Cab in the Smite Arena.

This is a quick look at the champion Ah Muzen Cab in the MOBA game Smite. I review his abilities, my experience with the champion, how I think he will best be used after a couple games with him.

Star Citizen Arena Commander Was Released - Check Out Some 300i Gameplay

The Arena Commander Module is finally here for Star Citizen!

The long awaited release of Arena Commander has finally come and gone. The game looks absolutely beautiful. My footage is a bit darker than I had expected it to be, I'll make sure and turn up the brightness in the future.

Currently AC is primarily a single player mod. The Cloud Imperium dev team will be rolling out multiplayer to more backers as network and server stability is improved. The game is fun. The flight feels real. The concept is easy to understand but putting it into perfect practice is very difficult. As you notice in the video my mouse kind of spazzes all over at times. That's because your turn has a lag time in it. There is an immediate response but as all your thrusters align in that direction the turn becomes much tighter and faster which leads to many mouse adjustments.

If you are a backer yourself you know how awesome this game looks. If you aren't yet a backer take a look at the link to the Star Citizen site below and get in on this action.

Magicka Wizard Wars is in Open Beta for all to play... for free!

Magicka Wizard Wars is in open beta! Cast spells and destroy the opposition with your friends! Or go it solo as a rogue wizard and train to be the greatest spellslinger alive. Master the elements that Dumbledore himself couldn't contain.

Magicka Wizard Wars has some great game mechanics. While the graphics aren't pushing the boundaries; the gameplay more than makes up for it with it's hilarity, difficulty, skill, and satisfaction.

Neverwinter, Is It Worth Downloading? My First Look At PvE And Dungeons

A continuation of my Neverwinter experience. Check out Skirmish dungeoning as we Storm The Keep!

This is a gameplay video of the low level dungeons in Neverwinter, specifically the Skirmish type. It's a fast 15 min dungeon and boss fight. Great for wanting to play for a couple minutes but not having to commit an hour or two to the more traditional dungeons, which are also found in Neverwinter.

If you're still on the fence about the game check out the video and take a look at the early level 20's PvE gameplay.

Nosgoth Deceiver - A Quick Review Of The Deceiver Class

If you want to be a Zealot and Vampire hybrid then the Deceiver and that wicked blade will be your prime choice.

The Deceiver is a very interesting class in Nosgoth. It has a lot of power and utility but seems to depend more heavily on having a strong team. When going toe to toe with humans it is easily popped just like the Reaver. However, it's mind control and invisbility plus backstab abilities make up for that.

The Deceiver does exactly what it's name suggest. It can make images of itself, wear the skin of a recently killed human, strike big damage at your opponents back, go invisible and generally cause mayhem on your enemies. The only trick is you need a decent team. If you're stuck with noobs, choose a different vamp.

Take a look at the video to get an idea of how the Deceiver plays and if it's a class you're interested in.

Nosgoth Hunter - A Quick Review Of The Hunter Class

If you've heard of Nosgoth and enjoy run and gun then check out the Hunter. Heck, even if you haven't heard of Nosgoth check this soon to be free to play game out!

The Hunter packs faster paced gameplay than some of the other human classes in Nosgoth, like the Scout. Arm yourself with repeating crossbows, burst crossbows, or high ammo capacity vampire skewers. Bola a vampire and stuff a grenade down their throat or blast'em in the back with explosive arrows as they run in fear. The Hunter offers a few different load out choices to suit a run and gun style of play.

Take a look at the video for a quick introduction into what the class has to offer. Also, I would highly recommend the sticky grenade. Vampires and glue don't mix.
