Nosgoth Reaver - A Quick Review Of The Reaver Class

If you played Left For Dead and enjoyed the Hunter then the Reaver is the vampire for you!

If you're one of many Left For Dead fans or played Left For Dead 2 and enjoyed the Hunter class in that game and the pounce mechanic that it was renowned for, then you have to try the Reaver class in Nosgoth.

The Reaver is my vampire class of choice. It has an arsenal of abilities that make it right for just about any situation. Load up with the traditional pounce and shred-face attack. Switch it up with some martial arts and round-house your opponents into next week. Blind or poison your enemies with elixirs and draughts that cloud the eyes and burn the body. Or go for mobility with damaging leap attacks and shadow steps.

I play the Reaver as a more mobile role focusing on moving fast and getting away faster when feces hits the fan. A word of warning with the Reaver. Do not go face to face with humans. This class pops like a water balloon.

Nosgoth Tyrant - A Quick Review Of The Tyrant Class

Interested in violent vampire role play? Love football and watching linebackers smash each other? Then take the Tyrant out for a test drive!

The Tyrant class in Nosgoth is pretty darned fun. If you want to be an unstoppable hulk shoulder charging and smashing your way though meager humans then this is the class for you. Big beefy vampire that can shrug off some serious hits and keep on going. Plenty of play styles; from a more damage-centered build to a more team-based-fight-initiator. Pick your poison with the Tyrant and pile drive your competition into the ground.

Nosgoth Scout - A Quick Review Of The Scout Class

Want to shoot vampires with a big ol'bow? Rock the Scout and that's the name of your game.

After a few games with the Scout I have decided it is my favorite human class in Nosgoth. It has a sharp shooter element that the other classes don't have. Watch the video to take a quick look at the available gear and abilities for the Scout. My personal favorite is the Siege Bow. A big bow that can plant vampires straight on their butts when shot from full draw.

The class requires a bit more thought and strategic placement than the Hunter, Alchemist, and Prophet. The Scout is much less run and gun than the other human classes but by no means lacking. Have a great team? Play it as support with the Siege Bow. Want to pull off fast and pinpoint accurate shots that deal great damage? Throw the Quick Bow on the Scout and practice your dodge, duck, dip, dives, and dodges; oh plus some sniper level shots in between.

Aerena - A Recently Released Free to Play Turnbased Combat Game

Enjoy quick and simple games that don't eat up all your time? Aerena may be for you.

If you are like me and don't generally enjoyed turn based games then Aerena won't be your cup'o'tea. However, if you're looking for a game that you can play for 20 mins, get a couple kills, and call it a night then you may want to check Aerena out.

Admittedly I have not spent more than 5 hours in Aerena but I found it slow paced, lacking strategy, and intensely boring. But hey, I know my attention span lasts for all of 3 seconds. If your attention span is greater than a squirrels then give it a shot. Plus its free so what'ya gotta lose?

Nosgoth Hacks - Every Darned Game Has Em

Yes, Nosgoth has Hackers...

Hackers, cheaters really since most of the just download and don't actually code, can put a serious dent on your enjoyment of a game.

I have only run into one hacker in Nosgoth so far. Take a look at the video above if you feel like you need proof. Notice the rate of fire, reload rate, roll refresh rate, and just run speed. Also don't expect much from this video in terms of editing quality. Did not spend much time rending out pretty cheater footage.

If you haven't had a chance to play Nosgoth I would recommend you do so. It's currently in closed beta but you can buy in if you have the $$ to spare.

Quick Neverwinter Update - Action Combat and Mini-Bosses While Questing

Pleasantly Surprised with Neverwinter so far.

One of the things I generally detest in MMO's is the questing. I play MMO's so I can stomp on noobs; at least that's what I try to do. Sometimes I end up being the noob that gets stomped.

I've already mentioned that I am pleased with the low level player vs player in Neverwinter but I am also pleasantly surprised with their questing. The quests are clean. The game system shows you where to go. So far there hasn't been any of the walk here, talk to this guy, walk back, oh we forgot - go over here one more time, +20xp junk.

It's been streamlined. It's had action. It's been fast and it's been fun. Take a look at the video above for a quick peak at a low level quest mini-boss.

Is Neverwinter Worth The Download? My First Look At PvP In The Game

Is Neverwinter worth the download? Take a look at my first impressions of PvP!

Free to play games are great but you never know if they are going to be worth the download or not. Take a look at my first impression video, specifically related to PvP, about Neverwinter - the free to play MMO.

I'll be playing the game until I get max level, get bored, or run out of time for it. Take a look at some of the content I will release along the way. It may help you make up your mind about downloading it, or not.

At first look the combat system is just enough out of the ordinary to be fun and fulfilling but there are complaints about the game almost requiring you to purchase items. I say almost because it does not require it of course, but it is always beneficial. Can we really hold it against the devs though? They have to make their money too! As I progress farther into the game I'll share my opinion about their specific Free to Play (F2P) model and if it's balanced or not.

Nosgoth Scout Marksman Tips! Want To Increase Your Accuracy and Skill With The Scout? Check Out These Four Tips

Like the idea of the Scout but have a hard time using him effectively?

Then take a quick look at these four tips. Hopefully they will help give you an idea on how to best use the Scout when fighting vampires and differentiate between moments to focus on damage and moments to focus on support. Plus you can watch me rattle off some pretty trollish shots on these vampires with my favorite heavy hitting weapon, the Siege Bow.

Nosgoth Prophet Class Released! Check Out It's Gear and Gameplay

That's right, the Prophet class is out for the humans in Nosgoth and ready to slay!

You can expect to have most of your human teammates playing the Prophet until everyone gets their fill of the newly released class. However, that is quite alright with me. The Prophet is a very strong class. It excels at slaying vampires and supporting it's fellow teammates. Pick your abilities and load-out to cater to your play-style.

It's got damage, crowd control, survivability, life leach, two blazing pistols, and on funky helmet.

Come take a look at the default and alternate equipment you can unlock on the Prophet as well as the class abilities and gameplay. See what the Prophet has to offer and how you may want to use it to slay those vampires!
