Using a Castithan Blade for PvP in Defiance is pretty darned entertaining, check out why.
Using a charge blade to slay other players is darned entertaining. Take a look at a video of some of my gameplay doing exactly that. A couple of quick tips though. Make yourself hard to hit. Zig and zag as well as dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge. Use speed, surprise, and huge damage to your advantage. Be tactical in your approach and don't just run right at your opponent. If you do this, I'm sure you'll enjoy chopping those trees down.

I ran into a vendor with some amazing weapons and couldn't figure out how to get them. I searched a little and found out, here's how.
When looking at the weapon vendor at Iron Demon Ranch you see these amazing weapons with tons of damage. They look pretty cheap too; scrip cost and rep points are low but what is the other currency? Apparently they are called cores.
Everyone has the scrip to get the weapons. What you may not have is the rep and the cores. To get the rep you can do the conflict missions found on the map in the smaller blue circles. You can also do co-op missions, found by hitting esc and going to the matchmaking tab and selecting co-op. What is hard to find out is where to get the blue cores? These are also from co-ops. There are two types: Standard and Expert. Standard is based on a 1000 ego rating and expert is based on a 5000 rating. Complete the expert co-ops and earn the cores then buy the weapons.
Not an easy answer with 5000 ego rating being a long ways off but at least you know how now.

How to get a bright, shiny, and owny sword in Defiance.
This video is a quick guide about how to get a sword in Defiance. It took me a bit more time to figure out than I would have liked so I thought I would make a video and spare you all. In short you begin the quest chain to unlock the sword by finding a data recorder. This starts a quest chain that marks the location of two more data records you need to find, totaling three recorders. After you find the recorders you then have to complete some arenas. There are a total of 5 arenas. Each give you scrip, experience, and reputation points you can spend. You will have about 500 rep point when you finish with the arenas.
I would recommend bringing two different weapon types to the arenas. Something that clears tiny trash mobs easily like a grenade launcher and an assault weapon of some kind. I do not recommend shotguns as there are too many enemies to blitz into the thick of it. Grenade launcher and assault rifle is what I took.
Hope this helped you figure out how to get that sword and start choppin!

My first look at the champion Janus in the Smite Arena.
This is a quick look at the champion Janus in the MOBA game
Smite. I review his abilities, my experience with the champion, and how I
think he will best be used and what I would change in my use of him.
I started playing Smite when it first game out and wasn't the more
polished MOBA game it is today. I had a great deal of fun with it and
purchased a founders pack which gives me access to all the heroes, even
new ones. I am putting together little snippets like this in hopes that
you will save yourself the pain of unlocking heroes you hate.

Is Orion Dino Horde worth playing? Take a look at my first hour or so in the game and decide for yourself.
Dino Horde is a free to play game that I got through steam. It's interesting because the rating on steam is terrible but the reviews are great. The normal price of the game is a bit much for what you are getting but it constantly goes on sale. I got my copy for $.99
Overall the game is fun. It's not great. It's not terrible. If I were playing solo I would certainly rate it as boring but playing with friends it was a good bit of fun. The graphics are so so. The mechanics are the same. In all it's an ok game. I imagine it will provide at least 5 hours of fun and if you bought it for $.99 then that's a decent deal. That's like a sip of beer at a bar!
